Trenchless Drilling Technologies

Trenchless drilling technologies are the methods of installing pipe and cable lines underground without opening a trench at the surface. In this section we describe the four methods Deltek applies in the field and the main components of horizontal directional drilling (HDD) one by one: what HDD is, the construction method and rig classes; drill rods, steering heads and reamers; walk-over and magnetic locating systems; drilling fluid. The other trenchless methods are pipe jacking / pipe ramming (pipe pushing, auger boring, microtunnelling), trenchless pipe bursting and the smart undergrounding approach. The topic guides are long-form pages that explain horizontal drilling and trenchless boring from the ground up.
